A Day In The Life Of NRG : Shipping Day!

So we finally shipped off our beautifully triangular robot this last Tuesday, and what a day it was. Everyone got to NHS at ten o'clock AM, which felt like the crack of dawn to me but at least it heralded the beginning of days of sleep for many of us. After some last minute crate spray-painting involving masking tape outlines, bad spray-painting jobs, and name etchings, we finally constructed the crate and got it all ready for the robot. Manderson finished up with the snapped electrical board and we frantically packed up the bot. Of course, it didn't help at all that some certain team members spent the ten minutes before and after noon periodically looking off into the distance with expressions of shock and yelling "OMG! The FedEx truck is here!!!!" This was also helped out by the fact that the FedEx truck passed NHS three times before actually coming to pick up our crated robot. Since it actually took an hour or so past noon, we spent the time throwing caps around, spray-painting last minute logos on our crate, and celebrating Nick's birthday! Props to Nick's dad for the excellent looking and amazing tasting birthday cake, the frosting robot was incredibly realistic looking, especially the copious amounts of triangles! Anyway, finally the FedEx man came and we all said goodbye to our beautiful and shiny robot in its black crate. See you in a month Robot!

A Day In The Life Of NRG : Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! Today we had a really great meeting at which we finally fixed the code for the Mecanum wheels! Yeah! Attendance was relatively high even though romance is in the air and Follies Auditions went on at an alarming rate. We all had the best Valentine ever...the robot. The crate is now in its initial stages of painting after its trial construction, involving copious amounts of black paint and some spray cans...can't wait to see how it is going to turn out! possible pictures of robots....hmmmm.... Also, Electrical Team is ready to go with their highly spiffy Operator Interface and sufficiently complicated-looking board! Congrats guys and gals! Now we're just waiting on the completion of the promising looking manipulator and we'll be all set to ship! We Can Do It! Si Se Puede!
